Let your imagination run free

Hi all,

As you know we make hand-made sugared almond favors for weddings, christenings etc. My sister-in-law gave birth to an adorable little boy over a week ago and we were invited to what I can only describe as a 'blessing' of the baby (Muslim religion) and so we made a baby display using one of wooden made prams that can hold up to 100 favors and used our baby boy embroidered nets that have prams and bottles embroidered on the net, it looked so lovely when finished (but I forgot to get a picture duh!) although I thought it was lovely, I was still really nervous about handing over as a gift something we make and is part of our business, but luckily she was over the moon with it.

What do you feel when giving something you have made as a gift?

I feel exactly the same. Extremely nervous till you get a responce and even then a kind of heart hearted reply is really quite gutting and you tend to think there is something wrong with your skills rather than it not being to their taste.

Thats exactly how I feel too Margaret, the thought of them turning their nose up or the half hearted reply is really scary - I think it comes with the fact that we are so proud of our work and want others to recognise it, can you imagine going into a big brand supermarket and they worry about what the customer thinks of their product haha!
