Reflections of blissful moments in our life.

This story will take us many places and cover many topics. If possible, try to follow suit with a few lines that you would like to share with us on something exciting that gave you a feeling of blissfulness.
Example: Your Spouse, your friend, your children, grandchildren, or anything that brought extreem happiness into your life. (We don't want the whole story at once...maybe a few lines today...a few lines tomorrow..etc.)
I will start.
When I first saw my wife, the feeling that took place was so unexpected. It was like the curtain opening. There she was and I knew we were one. Wow! I'll never forget that moment.

As a student I was broke and was hitchhiking down the moterway to visit my family for the half term week. I had no money and had been travelling for hours. I was thirsty and hungry and it would still take me hours to get home....; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Jill on May 16, 2008 at 1:37pm: Anyway I had been dropped off at a Moterway service station and had to walk from one end to the other to get to the exit where I could hitchhike on my way. I got to a roundabout and decided to walk across the middle of it rather than all the way round.

I remember walking across, looking down at the grass and feeling sorry for myself being tired and cold and hungry and thirsty and wishing I had some money. And then suddenly at my feet there was a ten pound (£10) note! This was in the early 70s and £10 was worth a lot more then. I'd had a student job which paid £14 a week so this find of £10 was close to a weeks wages. And there it was, right in the middle of nowhere on this moterway roundabout!

Of course I then went into the Services and got myself something to eat and drink and that made me feel a lot better but the blissful moment was really first finding the money just when I had been wishing I had some. And thinking I must have a fairy godmother who makes wishes come true!; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by WILMA (aka Julia) on May 27, 2008 at 11:53pm: One of my blissful moment was being able to talk to my dad again after he had been on life support for almost 5 weeks and had a trachi in situ and they let him have a special voice box inserted for 5 mins a day that was bliss!!! Miss him so much but remember the feeling of hearing his voice after what seemed like forever!
