Let your imagination run free

Sometime like when we were having Mandys birthday party yesterday I just like finding good music tracks I like on You Tube and listening to some sounds old and new. And I notice we sometimes are less active on the music front than we are with other things like photos and blogs on Creative Cafe. So I thought it would be nice to have this discussion just to put up music vids we like and maybe even a bit of a description about when and where we were and why we came to like that track.

Will leave this open for members to decide which way this thread will go!

im not sure where i came to first listening to the Talking Heads (possibly given a bootleg show on cd way back)
But this is one of my Favorite Songs (of many) and the Video is Super-Cool too and really Fun.... Wish i could dance like that ;)

Yeah, its good to see people in music enjoying themselves. So often artists on Jools' show and others have an angst ridden tormented act with baleful souls wailing on...

Hi Anna

Love the Talking Heads and Mr Byrne's personal dance style. What a unique dudey he is.

Recently purchased the Visage album on cd. I have it on vinyl but it has got scratched over the years.

Not everyone's cup of tea but each to their own and this takes me back to the times of make up as an art form and posing for the crack:

Hi

The make up in that was an artform Mandy and I like it.

The following reminds me of living in Oxford in the 70s and there was this Neil Diamond LP that used to get played. The lyrics in this like
'and no one heard not even the chair'
used to make me laugh and even though the tunes were good he seemed quite naff really. But then recently I saw Neil Diamond on telly and was quite impressed.
He seems to have stood the test of time!

Hi

Some time since I last posted music on this discussion and staying up late last night saw a history of Folk music which included Donavan. So here he is:

Hi Jill

My Dad is a Donovan fan although he was never into the flower power movement. Bless him.

The last cd I bought was Macy Gray's first album. I got it for a pound in a second hand shop and it has become a favourite. I play it most days.

My favourite track is "A moment to myself" but can't find that track on you tube so have picked this one, which I also like alot:

Hi Amandalyn

If you were trying to put up a You Tube video you like then it hasn't come out. You just need to copy and paste in the code and it usually works. What music do you like anyway?

Bye for Now

Hi Amandalyn

If you want to put a youtube video up here, you need to copy the embedding code, which is in the box to the right of the video (under the URL). Hope that helps.

I haven't posted a video here for ages but want to stick this one up of Oasis. I don't usually like their music, although think "Wonderwall" is a masterpiece. Having seen this on the Comic Relief TOTP special, think it is Oasis back to some quality form.

P.S. I know TOTP isn't everyone's cuppa but I would like to see it bought back to our screens.

Put Jools on earlier & extend his show. All acts are actually performing live & they're better than the kiddy stuff that totp became.

Jools on earlier is a great idea but some of us (that don't know what camp we fit into and even if we did, the camp wouldn't have us) like a bit of everything and I am quite partial to bubblegum pop, in small doses. Half hour a week is plenty for me. :>)
