Let your imagination run free

Sometime like when we were having Mandys birthday party yesterday I just like finding good music tracks I like on You Tube and listening to some sounds old and new. And I notice we sometimes are less active on the music front than we are with other things like photos and blogs on Creative Cafe. So I thought it would be nice to have this discussion just to put up music vids we like and maybe even a bit of a description about when and where we were and why we came to like that track.

Will leave this open for members to decide which way this thread will go!

That track reminds me of The Old Grey Whislte Test. Wasn't it the theme tune?

So are we looking at 70's rock? Hmmmm

Evidently, Suzi was big in Germany. I know it isn't classic rock but there is something about Suzi I have always liked. Gutsy woman:

Hi I am going to throw a spanner in the works!! When I was at school our music teacher taught us nothing but classical music. Her teaching gave me and others a great love for classical music, see what you think to this one

My Mum trained as a concert pianist & she often did the 'posh stuff'. Apart from playing along to her 18inch acetate recordings of clasical pieces on a special player she could jazzify some of the more pop bits of classics. a bit like...
It still brings the memories back & it still makes me laugh!

Hi, love this, do you play piano Azzami ?

Reply to This

Nope! Only one of Mum's eight kids did, and he was totally self taught after Mum died. I was too 'cack-handed' & could never put in the effort! (Left handed to us.) Of course I still regret the wasted opportunity sometimes.

Hi

I do like some classical music. This video they could maybe have added some Swan Lake ballet dancers to perhaps!

My Dad was always trying to get us to like classical music and kept playing us this 'Young Persons Guide to the Orchestra' which seems pretty dramatic to me now.

Oh well that last reply was refering to Louises last Swan Lake track and not Azzami's ????? track!

HI
I bought a dvd of Swan Lake, with an all male cast as the swans!!! It is brilliant because Matthew Bourne brought it right up to date, great stuff.

I used to play one track for my children when they were little, I used ask "what is this called" (it was One Fine Day from Madam Butterfly), I thought if they only know one piece of classical it's a good start to appreciate all kinds of music.
