I will put up the other suggestions later.
Of these so far I don't like the Tommy Steele Singing the Blues one much.
I like I am the Walrus and Bohemian Rhapsody but wonder if anything like these would be too hard for us to do musical wise? If we are going to attempt some playing and singing of tunes then I guess we need something pretty easy and simple. At least I do!
On that basis I would think the Roy Orbison You Got It track sounds the simplest but that may be deceptive? I do like the tune as well.
Anyway will put up the other suggestions later.
They are on page 4 of the other discussion if anyone else wants to put any up?!
I am wondering if it would be viable to make the video with artistic contributions from cafe members.
Like you do the weekly slideshow which is made up of members' work. Taking that one step further and making a video of work, by those who want it on there. Purely and idea and also dependant on anyone one has the skills to put a video together. I have windows movie maker but I haven't sussed it out to any great effect.
I managed to update the video of my fairies but still haven't learnt how to post that anywhere or add in music or change the time lines. I could really do with an easy to follow tutorial.
Anyway, I think that would be more original than using one off you tube but if the contributions don't come in then you tube is as good as any place to find pre-existing ones.

Hi Mandy
I was putting the vids up as they were in the suggestions not as examples of what the whole tune would be but maybe an adpatation along the lines of what we all decide we like. A sense of direction about where we are heading...Then I thought we could each take a part in singing/playing the tune and song and record our individual efforts. Then someone who knows how (hi Richard!) could mix up the different recordings into one. That would make the music and song and then we could put it into a video using members pics. I have not tried movie maker either but have been told it is easy!
As far as posting your video is concerned I remember you were asking before and I said either copy and paste or you need an embed code but I think you said you don't have an embed code and copy and paste doesn't work. Is that right? I think the best thing is to write to the Ning help centre and ask them how it is done. Tell me what your video is made on again? Is it Movie Maker? I will write to them about it if you want or you can get in touch with them by going to Ning.com and then to their help centre.
I might contact Ning but will most probably forget or get distracted. If you have time and inclination to ask them, it would be much appreciated but no worries if you don't. I have my card making to keep me occupied.

I'd drop the rat race line because we are trying to leave that behind us as we enter CC. What do you think?

Hi Bright
I am finding it confusing where to reply to in these threads as there seem to be a number of choices about where to put your reply.
Anyway thanks for more lyrics suggestions. Maybe you are right that rat race shouldn't be included. Richard was saying we should include something with Ning in the lyrics as we keep having some issues with Ning who run the software for this site. Also Ning rhymes with sing so that might work somehow.
But like I was saying I am finding it hard to imagine the lyrics without a tune and hard to pin down a possible tune with so many choices among the suggestions. Really I want Richard or some other musical wizard to compose us a catchy tune of our own.
I don't want much do I!
When I heard your lyrics, and then the ones I wrote from that, I heard a tune.
That's what usually happens when I write lyrics. To me the lyrics dictate the tune and also, if I come up with a tune, lyrics come from that. They have to suggest each other, or it just ain't music. However the tune I heard from your lyrics,
and then also my re-write was more of a jingle. I just don't see a full blown song at the opening. I think that's something people could put together as a project, and to show off talent, but as an opening song, I just don't hear it. That's just me though,
pay no mind, really! :)
