My prize (thank you!) for winning the side picture logo was spent at Om Shanti's shop!! I got the Minty Footy spray - not only very refreshing but smells lovely! I shall have the best smelling feet in UK and the freshest :)

Yup, wonders will never cease! I actually managed a little time to stroll through Omshanti's wonderfully smelling shop which was a delight. I have now placed an order for Minty Footy Spray which will be wonderful after a long day on my feet!

Although my first priority is my encaustic art I do have another now! My daughter and I have started our own business hiring out chair covers/sashes etc for weddings and other events in the Surrey/Sussex area for starters! Already had some enquiries and a couple of potential bookings! So exciting for us so I won't bore you all with it!!

I always love a challenge!

Whilst working with my waxes I played around with various designs and so enjoyed mandalas that I thought I would give it a bash! For those of you who are not familiar with term 'mandala' think of your childhood when you used to play with a tube down which you could view moving beads etc as your rotated the tube. This would have been called a kaleidescope, remember? Anyway, moving on! A mandala is a unform pattern that can be viewed from any direction.

My name is Pat and I live in the south east of England.

As you may have read already I 'discovered' the medium called encaustic art which is basically painting with hot wax on different surfaces.

I say I 'discovered' this medium because it was by pure chance that I heard the word 'encaustic' and curiousity got the better of me! Gosh, was I glad it did. I read up on it, experimented a little and found that paintings appeared very quickly. I love the texture and vibrancy of the wax.
