Hi Mandy!

Yes, it has been a long time, hasn't it? If I'm thinking correctly (and that isn't something that happens frequently enough!) you should be heading into summer now, right? And here we are headed into what promises to be a long, cold, snowy winter! We got our first snow the last day of summer. And have had several heavy snows already even before Halloween.

Thank you for your kind words about my blue felted bowl. I love how it turned out and need to dye up more wool skeins and make more of them. So much fiber...so little time!

Life is treating me very well and the animals are all doing great. Our 29 year old mare looks incredible this winter. Everyone who sees her cannot believe she is that old, so I guess I figured out the right feed schedule and regimen for her because she's sassy, as well as snappy looking!

I always feel so welcome and part of a wonderful artistic family here on Creative Cafe and I'm glad you're a part of it all! Happy Birthday to Creative Cafe! Thank you to Jill for creating such a warm and welcoming group!

Hope life is treating you well. Warm hugs and many blessings to you!

Thank you Mandy for your wonderful comment on Autumn Pleasures..I was in a very precarious spot when I took it on the mountain as I don't do well on heights. I stepped as far out as I dared and made a quick shot :O) Hubby was very proud of me!

Hi Mandy

Yeah they fixed our cooker on Thursday after getting more parts. I have even enjoyed cooking a bit on it since then as the microwave and takeaways were getting dull.

It is Liam's birthday today and they have all been over but the new baby isn't feeding well and has lost more weight than he should so things are quite tense. I don't think Liam has been enjoying his birthday much so far.

Are you saying they are holding up your Dad's place in a care home that would suit him because of money? That is a scandal. I see all these millions and billions they spend on bankers and wars and other useless causes and think that it is a criminal waste what goes on.

Hope you enjoy your time with Debs and also the fireworks. Not sure when you are going or maybe have gone by now but enjoy yourself anyways.

Bye for Now

Hi Mandy

Yes two years has gone by in a flash hasn't it. I think I've learned a lot doing the caf really. But I'd also like more people involved in running it. More like a co-op. I've got Azzi and Peter and Tony and my bruv as trustees who help in the background and with any techno stuff. Like Peter fixed my IE which kept crashing today. But they don't really want to be involved in the running side of things. Twould be nice to have a group of us doing that but maybe that will happen more in the future. One thing I have learned is that things don't happen as fast as I imagine they will.

Yeah it will be good if you can do a card stall before Crimbo with Em. I am so pleased with the cards you sent me. You have got such a talent with them I am sure any you make will sell like hot cakes. Whatever hot cakes are i am sure it means they will sell fast!

Hope you have had a good time with the goats. And enjoyed your lunch. The man is coming back to fix the cooker tomorrow and I hope they do it properly this time. Am fed up with microwave and takeaways.

Hope you sleep well and have sweet dreams

Hi Mandy

Your cards arrived today. And very lovely they are as well. I am very very very pleased with them and will have to get Azzi to give me the butterfly one because I want to keep it! Also arrived in the post today a remote control Darlek I got on ebay for one of Azzis grandchildren thinking it is little and it is HUGE! Have given it to Azzi to play with and he has fallen for it! Also some knitted friut to go in one of Louise's wooden bowls I got as a pressie. Also a remote control Dinasaur for one of Azzis grandbabies. So this room is now full of packaging. At least I am getting some pressies sorted early this year. The time flies by and I worry nothing will be ready.

Anyway thanks millions for the cards they are brilliant.

Good on you for doing swimming and excercise. And for thinking you'll cut down smoking. I wish I could give up completely but just can't. I'm glad your Em is going with you as well. She always seems to be good for your mood.

Anyway we suddenly have 4 new members to approve today so I'd better go and check them out.

Hope to catch up again soon.

Hi Mandy

I had a temperature of 103! Drank some whisky tonight as well as took numerous pain killers. Fell asleep and woke up feeling light headed but less fevourish. So I conclude whisky is the best medicine!

Still have sore throat etc but am too drugged up to care. Better than last night when I felt really really really miserable. From one extreme mood to another isn't it.

Sorry about your shoulder. Is it from too much computering? At the old place before I had my laptop used to sit at the big computer for hours and got a very bad shoulder pain a lot. From the angle I was sitting at I guess. It's ok with the laptop because I move around.

Anyway I am not going to push my luck and am going off to sleep again soon.

Will hope to catch up again soon.

Bye for Now

Hi Mandy

Have just put your Happy Halloween card with a link to your cards as a blog. Hope you get some card customers.

I am really ill! Have bad cough, bad bad guts and high temperature. Also sore throat and other coldy symptoms. Have had about 6 baths today to try and stop the bad guts pain but it's really persistant. Also the coughing and stuff makes me feel really weak. So I'm not a happy bunny at all today! Think I am going to take a sleeping pill and try and sleep it off next. I was supposed to go for a flu jab tomorrow but have cancelled that for a laugh!

Anyway will be back with a proper reply when I have improved!

Take Care

About Me and my Creativity.
Ummmm! Exactly - it is all very ummish.

When I can brave putting Photoshop on my pc, I will be doing pictures which relate to mental illness and health, political anxt and what I think are other relevant issues.

I like anthem type slogans with images that bring out the full meaning.

Sometimes I write poetry. I used to write loads. Mostly self absorbed drivvle. Now I write a different kind of self absorbed drivvle and infrequently. Was rather pleased with my homage to Kurt Cobain and have done the odd poem about mental illness but something shifted when my mother died. And so poetry remains mostly motionless.

Done a few paintings too. I like themes. Like taking a photo and then alterning it on Photoshop, adding a logo and then doing a painting. Again, is rare but absorbing when mood takes me.

Yep...am really an ad hoc creator.

In light of the many anti stigma campaigns abounding I need to change my comments and uphold respectability in politically correct circles.

Henceforth, am no longer off my rocker.

I am now almost recovered and only slightly insane on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. and every third weekend of the month.

Some recent pozzies in my life

To say the last couple of years of my life have been gruelling would be an understatement. Not only have I had to struggle along with my own illness (which isn't particularly easy) but have had to try and care for and get the right care support for my father. It has been an uphill struggle with services, who have mostly refused to listen to my concerns. It culminated in my father attempting to take his own life a few weeks ago. I can't explain the torment and pain that has given to me...and I am… Continue

Making Progress

This is most recent lot of cutty outty bits. Going to stay with friends next week and they have asked me to put together a box of my cards so they can sell them on their market stall. I have also heard back from local school and have a stall booked for their September Festival.

Little steps and all that:
