Hey Mandy

Where are you?! It is so long since we had coffee and cakes on the caf. Would you please come over and partake of some nosh with me soon! Also I want to know if you have any pics of your lovely cat I can use for the cats against the cuts poster Dickens wants me to do with lots of cats in it!

Hope you are having a good weekend.

I have not visited you on the Cafe in soooo long! I wanted to see what cards you have been making lately. I still have a package to send you - just waiting for some extra cash.

Hang in there, 2010 is almost at a close.... 2011 brings all kinds of new and wonderful promises!

Hi Mandy

I don't really understand the probs you are having with direct payments having to pay for Tai Chi person yourself. Surely that should be paid for you. They should also give you more support with paperwork and etc. Why is it everything with services is such a hassle? I get so sick of the system and the way we keep getting rubbish services!

I think I went a bit too manic and OTT with the fireworks on the Main page for our Creative Cafe third birthday this week but never mind! I am feeling a bit down today as the problems disabled people are getting with the Work Assessment Tests sound so bad and there is so much injustice against us. I would be out working if I could manage it without going psychotic and ending back on the psycho ward again. They don't understand the dangers of pushing people into work when they are not able to cope with the pressures. It just isn't right. I have joined all these protest groups but today keep feeling depressed no matter how much we protest we will still keep getting oppressed. Where is the justice is in this world?

Anyway better not go into too much of a downer here Mandy! I did see some fireworks from the window which was pretty and I hope you enjoyed yours. And seeing your Em.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hi Mandy

Weird day. Kept falling asleep on sofa in between trying to do something on here for Halloween. Wish you had taken some pics of the food at your party and I could have put them up instead of steal Wossy's cakes! But never mind!

My latest idea is to do a protest song by us disabled people against the rich tax evaders/fraudsters like Vodafone Osbourne and that Philip Green. Have been thinking about changing the lyrics to Hit me with your Rhythm stick with the Hit Me becoming Pay Up! And other manic ideas...

Am also feeling achy and had bad guts bug yesterday. There seems to be a virus going round which is not as bad as flu but you keep feeling bad on and off. Two people have told me they have it so far and I think I've got it.

Anyway thanks for coming by the caf and hope your Halloween has been good. I am so pleased whenever I see you here!

Hi again Mandy

I have never seen that before on here. there seems to be a 2000 character limit on the comments now. Ning keep putting in new stuff noone asks for. And taking away things like our music player which I am still pissed off about. Anyway if you go to the previous comment that is the beginning of this one!

So anyway I think you will be fine on the Clonazepan which I was rpescribed some while back. It is like lozzies but stronger. I am not sure about the other drug you mention as have never heard of it but think you may as well try these things in case they do help. I feel lucky with my meds being able to juggle them to cope with my everchanging moods. And not getting bad side effects. There are lots of bad things about meds but there are lots of bad things about being without meds that help when you need help as well. So I'm glad you seem to have got on with this new shrink. Lets hope the meds do work for you this time.

Shame you had to miss gardening though but I'm glad you saw your Em as that always cheers you up. How is your Dad these days Mandy? I know he went into a home and then havn't heard much from you on the subject since. Is he OK?

Blimey I just had a bad coughing fit and felt like I was going to be sick. Where did that come from?! Dickens woke up and looked at me like I must be going mad. He doesn't realise I already am mad! Anyway think I'll go get some water to drink and take some meds to get some sleep again. See it is 3.15 and again I am wide awake. Just wish my brain would just STOP sometimes. I'm sure you know what I mean!

Well will catch up with more news again soon Mandy. Lovely to hear from you.

Hi Mandy

Blimey I thought I'd never get here to reply to you as there seems to have been so much to catch up on. My laptop on which I do everything computer died at the end of last week and although I could borrow Azzis some of the time his is waiting for a new hard drive and has errors and runs slow. So there was a lot I couldn't get done. Now Peter has got me this loan machine to borrow while my laptop is away being fixed which is a relief but there is just so much to do what with campaigning against the cuts and doing my clicks and playing My Mad Millions and the Ombudsman stuff I was doing until Sunday and everything else as well!

Anyway I wrote out a very long ream of evidence to the Ombudsmanwho happens to be a woman and got it in by Sunday in the end. There was still more to send but it was doing my head in and my feet has swollen up and were throbbing and spongey so I gave up. But I said if they don't find in my favour I am going to get a solicitor and apply for legal aid and take Social Services to court. The more I went over their letters the more lies I found they told just to get out of providing any services and adaptations and I have the proof in the letters they sent. I don't want the hassle of going to court Mandy but I am sick of the way we are being treated these days and unless we make a huge fuss we get nothing. So then I will make a huge fuss. And if they want to lock me up on the psycho ward again for making the fuss then that will cost them even more money than just providing proper services and support. I think it is against our human rights the way they are attacking disabled people in the media and this government are practically guilty of war crimes because they are treating us like the enemy!

Better stop ranting. I have been getting quite manic and having to take extra meds to get any sleep at all lately. It's all just such a wind up.

Anyway lets change the subject before I explode!

Oh they seem to have put a limit length here?

xx

Hi Mandy

Sorry you have been having a bad time. Hope you have had a better day today. I have had to take a bit of a tranc because I wasn't sleeping and was getting really would up with the Ombudsman stuff. Sometimes my brain keeps on and on at me and I wish it would just STOP going round and round over everything. I'm sure you know what I mean. It is so hard to relax at all when your own brain won't stop for 5 seconds! Anyway I am hoping the tranc will calm me down and I can get a bit of peace!

It is already nearly dark and it is only 6.30ish. I heard there is going to be good weather this weekend though. If so I hope we will manage to get out somewhere as it may be the last time there is any good weather this year. Have hardly been out at all for ages. Went to the dentist and that was about it. I know what you mean about going out being too much quite often. I can get quite agrophobic and have to make a big effort to psych myself into going out even though it doesn't happen often.

What have they given you direct payments for Mandy? Is it to have a care assistant? How do you manage doing the paperwork? I heard it can be quite complicated. It's really good you are getting some though.

Anyway I'd better go and see about dinner. Don't know what to do yet. Maybe some macoroni cheese or something like that.

Hope you have a good evening.

Morning Mandy

Yes it would be good if there was one place with all the campaigns going on listed as it can be hard to find out what is going on where.

I have hardly slept and am worried as only have a week or so to submit all evidence to the Ombudsman about my Social Services stairlift complaint which has been going on for ages. Am not holding out much hope for it anyway as with all the current cuts cuts cuts agenda they won't think being able to get upstairs is important in the scheme of things. In contrast the COPD nurse and occupational therapist came to see me at home and they were really nice and very helpful. They offered me help with my inhalors and breathing excercises and anti-biotics when I need and oxygen when I need and help with housework I can't do and a phone number to ring and they were just really reasuring. They are coming back with more help soon. If only other services like Mental Health and Social Services could offer such high standards of care we would be much better off. But that is not likely to happen. Shows what can be done though and they should all have high standards. But they don't.

Richard did write to me last week on Facebook about the music player we have been tesing on here and I wrote back but have not heard from him since. I know he was ill the week before but don't know now. I'll write again.

Glad your gardening is going well although the dogs sound a nuisance. It has rained so much here all the greenery has grown madly but there are hardly any flowers. I am going to remember to bring the geraniums in before the frosts as they can flower all winter and look cheerful in the cold months. I forgot them last year and they all died in the cold poor things!

Hope you have a good day today Mandy.

Hi Mandy

Yes I think Twitter and Facebook have potential for grassroots campaigning. Disabled people who went on the march in Birmingham Sunday got a good write up in the Guardian as well. I was quite depressed yesterday but reading it cheered me up a bit. Perhaps we are not completely powerless.

Glad you are feeling better than you did but take it easy as these virus things can be hard to shift. I'm didn't know your Suki had a skin infection. Hope the vet is right about it healing up now. Luckily Dickens seems pretty healthy touch wood. He has been getting a bit bored with so much rain as he doesn't go out and goes a bit wild indoors!

Glad you saw your Em and had a pizza out and hope you enjoy your gardening group today.

About Me and my Creativity.
Ummmm! Exactly - it is all very ummish.

When I can brave putting Photoshop on my pc, I will be doing pictures which relate to mental illness and health, political anxt and what I think are other relevant issues.

I like anthem type slogans with images that bring out the full meaning.

Sometimes I write poetry. I used to write loads. Mostly self absorbed drivvle. Now I write a different kind of self absorbed drivvle and infrequently. Was rather pleased with my homage to Kurt Cobain and have done the odd poem about mental illness but something shifted when my mother died. And so poetry remains mostly motionless.

Done a few paintings too. I like themes. Like taking a photo and then alterning it on Photoshop, adding a logo and then doing a painting. Again, is rare but absorbing when mood takes me.

Yep...am really an ad hoc creator.

Are you a disabled person? Does this affect your creativity?
In light of the many anti stigma campaigns abounding I need to change my comments and uphold respectability in politically correct circles.

Henceforth, am no longer off my rocker.

I am now almost recovered and only slightly insane on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. and every third weekend of the month.

Some recent pozzies in my life

To say the last couple of years of my life have been gruelling would be an understatement. Not only have I had to struggle along with my own illness (which isn't particularly easy) but have had to try and care for and get the right care support for my father. It has been an uphill struggle with services, who have mostly refused to listen to my concerns. It culminated in my father attempting to take his own life a few weeks ago. I can't explain the torment and pain that has given to me...and I… Continue

Making Progress

This is most recent lot of cutty outty bits. Going to stay with friends next week and they have asked me to put together a box of my cards so they can sell them on their market stall. I have also heard back from local school and have a stall booked for their September Festival.

Little steps and all that:…
