That is a great photo of Dickens. Right now, I have Suki curled up on her bean bag next to me. Animals are therapeutic and a whole lot more. They are constants, they have their own personalities and in regards to Suki, she has adapted very well to t…

Hi Mandy

Seems ages since I wrote to you now. And then your lovely card has arrived. Thanks so much. You are so talented with the cards.

How are things with you anyway?

I had another flu jab. The swine flu one this time and felt really achy and tired afterwards. Am only just beginning to feel better. Think I may have gone a it mad on ebay because presents keep arriving that I forgot I ordered! People are going to be getting some extras! Have also wrapped up quite a few already and am trying to be organised but the cards which I had printed by Rodney are not written yet and I seem to have booked in 3 different shopping delivery orders for over the holidays. Will have to cancel at least one of them or we will have food flowing out the door. My bruv is coming down weekend of the 19th for the night so that will be nice.

Anyway hope to hear from you soon and that all is well.

Bye for Now

Hi Mandy

Oh good I'm glad your going for coffee and cake with your Em. You seem happier when Em is around. Has she got a car since she passed her test by the way? I was feeling fed up with the weather today myself. It was so rainy and windy and gloomy looking outside and I just want sun sun sun! We didn't even get much summer did we. Usually I don't notice the winter weather until after Crimbo but this year it seems to have got bad early as well. Floods and all sorts of storms going on everywhere. If it wasn't for Dickens hating being left I'd be very tempted to go somewhere hot for a week at the moment.

I'm going for a flu jab tomorrow. I don't usually have them but my breathing has got so dodgy I am quite afraid of getting flu. Not that I am sure the flu jabs work but I suppose it might!

Anyway hope you enjoy your book and have a good relax.

Bye for Now

Mandy,

It must be awful for you then, knowing what this time of year brings for you and dreading it. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and I will continue to send positive healing energy to you.

Glad you're all snuggled up for the evening with a good book - enjoy!

Hi Mandy

Lovely to hear from you. Seems like a while now but the time flies by so quick. I'm glad you like winning your prize which I have sent by bank transfer by the way. Sorry things have been more down than up for you. I do read the Facebook stuff so have seen some news from you at least. I don't seem to find time to do much on FB tho just read it now and then. It's lucky I can't connect to the games you play on there or would be addicted. It's weird the people who turn up on there tho isn't it. My neice added me and so did a boy I used to work with when he was in care. He is now 40! Plus an old school friend and all sorts.

Anyway better go and try and get some sleep although as usual I will probably not get to sleep for ages.

Great to hear from you anyway Mandy.

Bye for Now

Hi Mandy,

No apologies necessary. I'm sorry that you are struggling with depression issues. This time of year is always difficult for people. My son has severe problems with SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and he hates the Christmas holidays, which is SAD for me!

I hope you have a really good time with your daughter tomorrow. My daughter went to Florida (which is 2100 miles away!) in June 2008 right after graduation. She lived with her boyfriend's family but things went sour while she was there. His parents got a divorce, the house went into foreclosure, they were living on food stamps, his Dad is disabled and they were caring for him and didn't feel like they could leave him. Finally a friend of his Dad's is buying their house and allowing him to continue to live there and they will help care for him. This allowed the kids to move here to Colorado where the unemployment isn't as severe as it is in FL and at least they have a good family and friends support system here. They are living with my parents because we don't have room in our tiny little ranch house for them, especially now that Jim and I both work from home. Jackie wanted to go shopping on Black Friday and I wasn't too thrilled with going out on the craziest shopping day of the year but we went and had Mother/daughter time and it was wonderful. We haven't had M/D time since at least spring of 2008. We actually found some good bargains and enjoyed our time together immensely. So, I hope your M/D time is wonderful, too!

Wishing you many blessings and sending healing thoughts and big hugs to you.

Hi Mandy,
Thank you for comment on the bowl, I agree somethings just cry out to be touched, wood is very tactile.

We were meant to have gone to fair today at Oxford but Bob is still unwell and didn't think he could cope with the drive, he was worried we would get there and him not feel well and be stuck in Oxford, he was soo disappointed, but its not worth making himself more ill. Hopefully we will be able to make the one in Cambridge, its not too bad of a drive and he know where we are going, so keep your fingers crossed!!!

How are you doing?

Love Louise xx

I know all to well the complications of not getting into email or internet :O) Thank you for your comment. Hi Mandy!

Yes, it has been a long time, hasn't it? If I'm thinking correctly (and that isn't something that happens frequently enough!) you should be heading into summer now, right? And here we are headed into what promises to be a long, cold, snowy winter! We got our first snow the last day of summer. And have had several heavy snows already even before Halloween.

Thank you for your kind words about my blue felted bowl. I love how it turned out and need to dye up more wool skeins and make more of them. So much fiber...so little time!

Life is treating me very well and the animals are all doing great. Our 29 year old mare looks incredible this winter. Everyone who sees her cannot believe she is that old, so I guess I figured out the right feed schedule and regimen for her because she's sassy, as well as snappy looking!

I always feel so welcome and part of a wonderful artistic family here on Creative Cafe and I'm glad you're a part of it all! Happy Birthday to Creative Cafe! Thank you to Jill for creating such a warm and welcoming group!

Hope life is treating you well. Warm hugs and many blessings to you!

About Me and my Creativity.
Ummmm! Exactly - it is all very ummish.

When I can brave putting Photoshop on my pc, I will be doing pictures which relate to mental illness and health, political anxt and what I think are other relevant issues.

I like anthem type slogans with images that bring out the full meaning.

Sometimes I write poetry. I used to write loads. Mostly self absorbed drivvle. Now I write a different kind of self absorbed drivvle and infrequently. Was rather pleased with my homage to Kurt Cobain and have done the odd poem about mental illness but something shifted when my mother died. And so poetry remains mostly motionless.

Done a few paintings too. I like themes. Like taking a photo and then alterning it on Photoshop, adding a logo and then doing a painting. Again, is rare but absorbing when mood takes me.

Yep...am really an ad hoc creator.

Do you have any disabilities that affect your creativity?
In light of the many anti stigma campaigns abounding I need to change my comments and uphold respectability in politically correct circles.

Henceforth, am no longer off my rocker.

I am now almost recovered and only slightly insane on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. and every third weekend of the month.

Some recent pozzies in my life

To say the last couple of years of my life have been gruelling would be an understatement. Not only have I had to struggle along with my own illness (which isn't particularly easy) but have had to try and care for and get the right care support for my father. It has been an uphill struggle with services, who have mostly refused to listen to my concerns. It culminated in my father attempting to take his own life a few weeks ago. I can't explain the torment and pain that has given to me...and I am… Continue

Making Progress

This is most recent lot of cutty outty bits. Going to stay with friends next week and they have asked me to put together a box of my cards so they can sell them on their market stall. I have also heard back from local school and have a stall booked for their September Festival.

Little steps and all that:
