Textile Abstract by Aileen Clarke is our new Creative Cafe Side Picture Design Challenge Winner

It is the turn of talented artist Aileen Clarke to be winner of our Side Picture Design Challenge this week. Aileen submitted three lovely designs which you can see on her blog and in Aileen's own words:

"When I read about this challenge I knew exactly which pieces I wanted to enter. The reason I have chosen these is because 1) They are abstract and should suit the tiled effect 2) They are quite colourful and 3) They are made up of left overs and scraps from other projects and may inspire others to have a go at doing something creative with bits and pieces that may otherwise end up in the bin."

Aileen makes wonderful embroidered fabric fused crafts in the form of cards and pictures which you can see in her shop. You can also find Aileen on her page at My Space and Flickr.

The $10 didn't get much time to burn a hole in my pocket hahaha. Just been to Omshanti's shop and got Lavender and Tea Tree salve. I have always used these essential oils together for lots of ailments and this little jar will be perfect for taking camping with us : )

Thank you all so much : ) This piece has gone on sale in an interior design shop in Edinburgh and I miss it! Everything I make sits or hangs in the house for a while and some pieces become like old friends. This piece was particularly one off and it's nice to see it here. Thanks again,

I enjoyed THAT greatly. I recognized the picture of my own life story in the Aileen Clarke's design. It touched my heart, and the material that was used for the artwork gave the additional warmth. Just unforgettable design!
