Design Creative Cafe Side Pictures Challenge. Prizes and Publicity for the chosen entrants.

Have you noticed our Creative Cafe Main page side pictures have recently been the work of our members? I've put up pictures by Aileen Clarke, Kate who runs Omshanti Handicrafts and now Paola who runs Mean Magenta. Congratulations to them and now I'm throwing open the challenge to you our Creative Cafe members to design and enter your own suitable pictures to go up as the side background for the Creative Cafe Main page.

To be suitable to go on the sides the design has to be quite abstract with a background covering the whole picture and no fixed pattern. This is because it is tiled and repeats over the whole page so we don't want joins or fixed repeats that will show up and look odd. I cannot really tell if a design will work well as a side picture until I try it but members can test their entries on the sides of their own pages first if they chose. The design must be your own and not one you have copied.

You can enter by writing a blog including the photo of your design entry. Call the blogs Creative Cafe Side Pictures Challenge Entry by: and add your name. Please also put a link to your profile page in your blog entry. And write in your blog anything about your design that you feel is interesting for us to hear.

I am looking to change the side picture every 2 weeks which means that this is an ongoing long term challenge.

Chosen entrants will have your design displayed as the Creative Cafe Main page side picture for two weeks and while it is running your name and details will also be at the top of the Main page giving you credit. You will also be given a link to your Creative Cafe Page and to another website of your choice if you sell your work elsewhere.

Finally chosen entrants will receive a prize of $10 to spend in one of our member's shops. Just tell me which of our members you want to buy from and I will send them the $10 on agreement they send you your prize! (You can find members with art and handmade crafts for sale in our Salesrooms Group. Members may also like to add a link to their shops in the comments below.)

Depending on the number of entries to this challenge I will be looking to find the first sucessful Side Picture entrant in two weeks from now around May 15th and then regularly afterwards.

So I hope you will feel inspired by this challenge, let your imagination run free and send in your entries. Our Creative Cafe members are so creative I am looking forward to seeing your designs.

I want to put your picture up as our side picture tomorrow but I have had to change the size so the daisy shows up both sides of the page. Do you mind? Also do you have a paypal address so I can send you your prize and which links of yours do you want me to put up in your write up at the top of the page? Do you have a link to somewhere you sell your pictures or just your blogs? If you can let me know I'll be doing the changeover picture tomorrow. And also many thanks for your entry it is lovely.

Yeah, tiling can be weird to play with. My next pic is going to want a little more work than the one I just put up.
