A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to trade several of my
pendants for this beautiful dish garden, made by my friend Lenisa. Over the warmer months she sells them though
Dish Gardens by Lenisa on Etsy, though right now, with the cold weather, she's selling custom photo pillows instead (a really cute idea).
It arrived in the mail, and I opened it up -- a little nervous, to tell you true, because I wasn't sure how she'd ship a plant successfully -- and I am pleased to say that what came out of the box is simply gorgeous!
I'd requested succulent plants for my garden -- that way, if I forget to water them for a while, they won't die. :) And I love the ones she picked, and how she put them together.
And that thing sticking up through the middle? That's a solar light. It charges all day, and through the evening under the kitchen lights; and then when I turn off the lights and go to bed, I can still see where I'm walking. What an awesome idea!
But she doesn't only do succulents -- she creates beautiful water gardens as well, with bamboo and other plants I don't know what to call, and anything and everything in between. Look at some of her other work!
Isn't that
awesome?
