Let your imagination run free

Hi to all! A note to all the animal lovers out there. Me wee dog Duke recently had an operation to remove a cancerous lump, it all went very well but I've noticed another lump (very stressfull), which will need looked at again by the vet. He's 13yrs old and has a very young look about him, he still run's about mad and has plenty of energy still for his age, so it is worth putting him throught the trauma of surgery. Am an optomist so I would want to give him the best chance possible. There's still a few years left in the old dog yet.
My Son Marc,20, will be back from Australia at the end of this month and he'll want to see his doggie, whom he really missed, he kept asking me to put picures of him on his bebo page. Aww!

Since being grown up I have adopted a flat coated retreiver and 2 collies. All were rescues. Jason saw me through a lot. Mac was my first rescue collie and we only had him around 2 years but he was such fun, and huge. Meg was 5 when I got her and the farmer had wanted the vet to put her down for "social" reasons. She wouldn't train to the sheep, the family kept her as a pet but there was definately something between her and the farmer. If I scuffed a boot out walking she dropped to the ground and screamed. She was also afraid of men. She is a contented wee soul now though.

Hi Margaret, thanks for responding. You fill me with hope for my dog Duke, I have moments where I get stressed out about his cancer, and other times where I just say, ce la vie! He's a 1 of a kind type of dog, I would love to have let him have some kids, but I got him when he was a year old, and he's already been nuetered. Do you usually keep collie's? Think they're amazing dogs.

Hi Karen,
Quite right to give wee Duke a chance. 13 can still be young for some dogs, we have had some of ours last till 16. My Meg has another tumour but we have decided not to operate because of the heart murmour. (Have had 2 previous dogs go on theoperating table). She is happy, bossy, but an older 13 year old and doesn't go far these days for walks, prefers to save her energy to boss me and herd me around the house. She only barks about once a year, but talk!!!, she could talk for Scotland.
