Hello Debra!
I see that we have a lot in common, (not just the fact that we live in North West, lol!), like you I love big blue sky and being a multi disciplinary artist.
I am off to visit your website, have a Fab and creative week, Paola
Hope you have a good Halloween weekend! All the best, Leslie
PS. If you're around come and check us out at the 3rd Manchester Artists' Book Fair, at the Uni!
Sorry I didn't realise your comment was here below. I only get notified when comments are on my page and only get round all the members pages every few weeks.
I can't believe we are already in October and no summer to speak of! Have never been to the Isle of Man and have heard strange things about it. Did you enjoy it there?
The move seemed to take ages but I feel pretty settled in here now. Still have boxes to unpack upstairs though.
Your daughter must have been thrilled with her room. I remember being allowed to chose my own curtains when I was about 10 and these dark purple affairs followed me around for years to come!
Have always liked mosaics a lot so will be keen to see any pictures if you get any.
Bye for Now
Jill

Hi Jill, no worries. Hope the move went well.
Summer - still waiting for it, LOL! Had a couple of lovely weeks in the Isle of Man with my sister and just been busy with family stuff. Decorated my daughter's bedroom while she was away with a friend. She came back to a total suprise. I've never wallpapered before so I felt I achieved something!
I'm working on three mosaics at the moment but am waiting for tesserae to arrive as I've run out!
What a lovely thought - thanks Jill. I'm sitting at my laptop this morning writing a proposal after dashing over the the Isle of Man and back - earlier than planned due to the wet windy weather, and that picture is so sweet it just made me smile. Thanks
Hope you are well and that the rainbows come soon.
It is a cold and wet midsummer here in the UK but anyway here is a picture of Vivien Leigh playing Titania in a Midsummer's Night Dream for you: glitter-graphics.com
Some people seem to find that map easy to get on and others like you and Mandy are having problems. I have written off for some siple instructions and will let you know when they arrive.
That is great to get so many signatures for your petition. So that means they may take notice of what you want and change the rules I hope.
Having to keep applying for funding sounds bad. We still have a lot of ominous looking forms to fill in for the same reasons which have been put off because they look so complicated and long. At least the Project Wonderful ads are now helping to pay our hosting fees.
Anyway nice to hear from you and I will be back with some map instructions when I get them.
How is your petition going? I hope you are having some success with it.
If you would like to add yourself to the map I have put up it is HERE. There is space to put up your name, picture and a short profile.
Anyway hope things are going well at the moment? I expect you are busy.
Have filled in initial details of the petition but they need to send a confirmation e:mail to me. My e:mail is playing up at the moment so am virus scanning to check I haven't got a virus. Once it is working again, my name will be on that petition.
There are a number of ways I can help with your petition. I can put it up on the latest activity and the next time I send round a broadcast message to the whole group I can include it.
I am thinking you could also start a discussion or write a blog about it which will attract comments and members will notice. If you do that then I can include it in the Cafe news next week as a subject members can help with.
Those are some suggestions I have to get your petition more widely known about on here. As you are updating your website you could put it as the url in your profile above with a little information and ask people who come to your page to sign your petition.
Anyway if you want me to go ahead with any of those ideas let me know and I will do it for you.
Hi Debra,
The weather here is not bad at all, though my little boy is off sick today with tummy trouble. I did an Intergenerational workshop, and nearly got involved with a project in Wales with school kids, but the year was very busy with other stuff, and couldn't fulfill that idea. Something local would probably be better. I feel the need to support something already in place, to get a feel for the work. I participated with a SMILE workshop last year, which was great fun. I don't know if I have the stamina to cope with 20 kids/mixed groups, etc on my own! Have a great weekend! Leslie
Hi Debra,
I took a look at your website and your work is brilliant. How wonderful. I would love to engage in community art, nearly did earlier this year, but got involved in my sons PA. Also, i think i need to establish a package that I can deliver. Maybe I can pick your brains at a later date? Welcome to the caff, Leslie

You wrote on Jill's about a petition for people who work with vulnerable adults and children to have to have a Criminal Background check....I think.
If not can you let me know what it is for? If it is for that, I will sign the petition. Can you let me know where it is?
Thanks

Here is a comment about some new stuff to do on this site. Hope you had a good week?
Now that we are getting to be a bigger group it is
important all our members can still feel they are
being heard. Your opinions and contributions are
what make Creative Cafe a lively community.
We want everyone to join in and be involved.
To help with this you can now chose the members
photos which go up in the Mainpage Spotlight
Slideshow. Ten new photos are featured every few
days and you can chose the ones you want
HERE
We now have a Blog of the Week feature so the
more blogs you write the more chance yours will
be chosen to go in the limelight on top of the Main
page. Vote for which Blogs of the Week you want
HERE
Write discussions about your own projects & websites
and these will be found in their own Category
HERE
The more active a member you are on Creative Cafe
the more your contributions will be recognised and
the more your voice will be heard.
And please don't forget to support our Salesrooms
