So the weather isn't so warm there today? There's always tennis. Do you watch Wimbledon? Watched the Andy Murray match. He struggled.a bit but won in the end.
Hoping to get out in the garden with Dad later and listen to tennis on radio.
Have replied to Elayne. Since then have been trying to set up one of those paypal payment button thingies. Oh I hate technology. I think paypal should do an idiot's installation for payment buttons.
I have started to set up a blog website for my cards but it didn't want to accept the payment code that paypal gave me. I think it is me though Jill. I just can't do technical stuff and no-one in my close proximity has the foggiest idea how to either. It is very very very frustrating.
Those jerk offs who are getting all this money to get the mentally ill into employment would be better spending their money on those of us who are genuinely trying to do something positive..with a view to creating a small business they can run from home (with intermittent craft fair and external activities). Rather than doing the DWP's dirty work which is all about fiddling with statistics and lining the pockets of shify 'management types' whose only interest is their bank accounts and being a New Labour Glory Boy.
I could certainly do with some 1:1 training in setting up a personalised and professional website with all that goes with it and I couldn't do that in a mainstream classroom environment. As I have said at so many of them damn 'don't make disability a reason for exclusion' conferences. It is how you include people that counts....as in acknowledging and accommodating disabilities in order to allow the person's skills and abilities to come to the fore. The idiots still think you can just give people some lessons on producing CVs and the odd interview skills sessions and off people will go and somehow be miraculously recovered into the workforce. What utter piffle!!!
Flexible work (under present government direction) goes about as far as allowing you to swap your lunch break with someone else. Well done all concerned...they have managed to waste millions of pounds achieving sweet fanny anny. Yep, I feel really strongly about the latest line in government hype. Is all lip service and sheep herding..and then a game of spot the job you might possibly be able to sustain. Oh dear! suddenly everyone there has been laid off. Meanwhile back in training camp it's another round of personal presentation sessions and excusing yourself in a politically correct manner before heading off to lock yourself in the toilets. I don't buy into it and I never will.
Actually I got a call from a company called 'In-Sight Training' the other week. I told them that when they really do have an in sight into my illness and how it affects me then they can have the right to talk to me about my 'goals' and their role in helping me achieve them.
sorry to hear about your virus. Bloomin' horrible things they are. I am sort of slightly peaking at times but just when I think things might be easing I get a dizzy spell. I guess is going to take as long as it takes. I do get exhausted easily. So am having a low key week and planning little. Want to be well for me trip to Derbyshire on 17th July.
Feel free to email me privately about the probby you have. Best get off now as could ramble for England and I need to rest my eyes.
Glad you had a good time with your Mum. The plants sound lovely. Not sure about that steam cleaner though. My carpets could do with some of that but is one more thing to add to the list of to dos.
Not much happening here. Going round to see Dad later with some bits and bobs for him but primarily cake. Cake is good. :>)
Think I will run a nice bath and relax in that, reading, for as long as water stays warm enough.
Sorry to read that the doc has confirmed you have emphysimia although you knew for a while something wasn't right. Is good that the inhalor is working and hope that continues to provide the relief you need.
Not going to be on here long....as migraine pending. Funny how these things come and go. I really could do with longer sleep and less stress but such is life.
As for dealing with officials (NHS and Social Services). They just totally frustrate me so my plan of action is to avoid dealing with them. It isn't always doable with Dad and his probbies but I am trying.
Hope you have a relaxed weekend there.
P.S. Rhinos didn't get aggresssive at all. They were very gentle although i wouldn't have wanted it to be just me and them. I think the fact their keeper was with me made all the difference. They do so love bananas. Bless
Hello Jill,
I've got news that I & hope you can help!!

I need as many of your votes and comments about my business to be posted by you on the Indy Channel.com website in order to become an A-List winner.
Please click on the following link: RTV6 VOTE on of after June 22nd. Please take the time to complete voting because your input is important to my business!
If you have any questions please let me know.
Is turning out to be a week of firsts for me. Yesterday, during my trip to the local zoo, I got to stroke and feed some rhinos. Was awesome experience. They were so gentle and affectionate. Today, I am eating a bandito...erm make that a bananito. Ha! Ha! Is basically an expensive mini version of a banana. confess to being umimpressed. The larger bananas are much sweeter and filling. :>)
Am just rattling through the virus. Not letting it control my moods or too much of my behviour. The dizzyness sucks but joined a support group on facebook and that is really helping. Referring notes and suggestions on how best to deal with it. Walking and fresh air seem to do the trick mostly.
Phone ringing so heading off. Will be back later to catch up. Bye for now
Glad you weekend went well, although it does seem to have been quite busy. Can appreciate you being happy to be home with Azzi and Dickens and the calm again. Am also pleased to read that your Aunt is doing better. :>)
Have been struggling with the virus. It seems to abate for a while and then come back with avengeance. Think I really need to rest up today. Yesterday I was out and doing shopping for father's day...which was good but it took alot out of me and then I got all dizzy and overtired.
I need to temper things. So I can do a bit and then rest just that little bit more afterwards.
Please let Azzi know that I will respond properly when I am bit more perky. For now am curling up in bed and sure I will sleep cos I feel dog tired.
I will make time to check out the new members and read through the poems so no worries.
Good luck with last minute packing and I hope you have a safe and pleasant journey followed by a fab weekend.
Will let you know what the book is like. I went through a bit of an anti phase with Jo Brand, thinking that all she did was take the mickey out of the mentally ill and in a rather patronising way but she seems to have moved on from 'cheap jokes' about people with MH probbies to cheaper jokes about herself. Fair enough.
Tired out from busy day here. So heading off soon. Look forward to hearing all about your trip when you are back. :>)
Cheylinn i s my pen name and I usually just go by Chey as it is just less typing. LOL If you click on my blog on myspace you should be able to see my poems as I have 180 or so up there. I don't know how much time I will have for here but will check in periodically. I just started gardening a few years ago and so far my flowers are doing great. Have planted tomatoes this year and keeping my fingers crossed. They say they are easy to grow; I hope so. Smiles, Chey
Am glad the weather is picking up and not just because I can get back out in the garden but it will be lovely for you and fam. I hope you have a great time.
I ordered the new Jo Brand book, which is about the child of a mentally ill parents. I hope she has used her experiences as a psychiatric nurse (as well as her irreverant humour) to make it a believable book. Yes mental illness is horrid but there are also some real comic aspects to it. I would like it to come in time for the weekend as I think it would make an excellent outside read. I told Josie about it and she is going to borrow it for when she goes on holiday. And then I am going to swap it with someone else. It seems apeople are keen to read it.
I am glad we have some new poets on the site. Could you let me have their names so I can got and check out their pages and poems? I haven't written any poetry for over a year. For whatever reasons, it isn't in me...or if it is, it doesn't want to come out. Ha! Ha!
Anyway, have fun with your last minute preps and have a stonkin' weekend.
Let your imagination run free

Thank-you & Good night... :o)

I am not certain why the zip code is a problem. Try using my zip code 46219 and see if that works.
Thanks,
Elayne

The color and texture contrast of these beads is what inspired the design!! (color & texture contrasts often inpires a lot of my designs)
