Havn't heard from you for a while so I wondered how you are getting on? How are your sales going? I am still hoping to persuade you to list your work in Creative Cafe Salesrooms one of these days! It is getting quite busy in there now.
an has starteda discussion on marketing and promoting your work for sale that you may be interesed in joining? Hope all is well in Canada Glitter Graphics
If you have time read this article How the Internet Redefined Art
It says the internet has redefined art and is going for the Wow factor and the Novelty value instead of quality works.
I admit when I have been putting round comments on your page I have gone for novelty. The painting elephants, the dancing parrot, the green graffiti. And here is another novelty The Four Seasons Tree from the article above which was voted best art on Digg and had 240000+ views on flicr. The article says this is a dumbing down of art and that its hard to get 'real' art education on the internet. Have a look and see what you think and let me know if you want me to bring around novelty or 'serious' to your page?
Let your imagination run free

Now that we are getting to be a bigger group it is
important all our members can still feel they are
being heard. Your opinions and contributions are
what make Creative Cafe a lively community.
We want everyone to join in and be involved.
To help with this you can now chose the members
photos which go up in the Mainpage Spotlight
Slideshow. Ten new photos are featured every few
days and you can chose the ones you want
HERE
We now have a Blog of the Week feature so the
more blogs you write the more chance yours will
be chosen to go in the limelight on top of the Main
page. Vote for which Blogs of the Week you want
HERE
Write discussions about your own projects & websites
and these will be found in their own Category
HERE
The more active a member you are on Creative Cafe
the more your contributions will be recognised and
the more your voice will be heard.
And please don't forget to support our Salesrooms
HERE
This week with my own hands I have set up a new group
on Creative Cafe for anything to do with disability which
you may like to join? And isn’t it handy that we have a lot
of interesting discussions going on at the moment. Please
don’t be shy and at least give us a helping hand with the
one where members introduce themselves. And hands
up if you have thought of buying any of the lovely
things in our Salesrooms lately? That would be a truly
handsome thing to do. Finally I have to rush off now
because I have my hands full sending round this comment!
Hope you are having a good week?

So here is a double Cafe news for you with
Week 7 being our last for 2007 and
Week 8 our first for 2008.
Looking back since we opened many
thanks to Richard Spasoff for being our
award winning photographer in the
Spotlight for our opening,to zarumbatus
for giving us his characterful artworks
in Week 2, to Phil Lancaster for his
fabulous digital images in Week 3
and to all the members who have made
contributions to Creative Cafe for being
in the Spotlight in Weeks 4 and 5.
That brings us to last week with our
festive and trees theme and many thanks to
all those who participated. I have now taken
the story of the Tate Modern playing Scrouge
to a discussion and would be glad to hear
any comments you have on that.
For Weeks Seven and Eight because we
members seem to love animals and pets
these are the theme and I have made up
a Spotlight slideshow of members artworks
Please put up more animal and pet photos
if you want yours added to the slideshow
I do hope everyone has been having
a good time over the Holidays and
wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR
We now have quite a few new members
so a BIG WELCOME to you all.
The theme for the next week will be
on NEW works that have not been
featured in the Spotlight yet so please
keep putting up your photos and see
if your work will go on the main page?
I usually ask members to keep inviting
more people to join us and to support our
Salesrooms and this week is no exception!
It is also good to see members making
friends and communicating with each
other more in recent weeks. Creative Cafe is
YOUR site and I hope we have an interesting
and friendly year ahead here in 2008.
All suggestions are welcome.
Bye for Now
