Let your imagination run free

This title doesn't do the video justice. it covers all kinds of bases: mental illness, science, stroke and nirvana. It is gob-smackingly brilliant!

Thank you, Theresa for sharing your response and experiences. Like most people, I place too much store on the brain, my brain. I'm trying to learn to let go a bit, and develop my heart as well. As amazing as our brain is, it obviously isn't the be-all and end-all to our existence. Our brains can fool us, and also is a storehouse for all kinds of karma. We think we know what's going on, and think we have the answers, but there's a lot of existence beyond the realms of our grey matter. This is something I'm endeavouring to grapple with.
Have a great weekend! All the best, Leslie

Hi -- great video!! I need to go and grab my son's report from the brain spec he had done. The report from the neurosurgeon had stated certain problems with activity in the different hemispheres that interfere with his thinking/judgment, ability to make decisions, speech, etc.

My fiance's mother, who is 89, recently had a stroke but is recovering amazingly. She had a lot of the symptoms stated in the video but has made siginificant recovery in less than six months. She has difficulty now coming up with the right word to say -- the same problem my son has. Before everyone thought I was "babying" him because he would get so frustrated, but now they somewhat understand.

A few weeks ago on our PBS station they had a series on "plasticizing" or "elasticizing" the brain -- guess I'm not coming up with the right words now -- essentially, what it is is training other parts of the mind to do the work for the damaged parts and "exercising" the various brain areas to help. For instance, one of the exercises was to not place your keys in the same place everyday -- that by placing them in different places that would help exercise and work your mind to remembering where the keys are.

I want to share this video with so many people that truly don't understand mental disabilities. I don't think until you've been affected by it, or deal with it on a regular basis with someone you're close to, that you realize the horrendous difficulty these individuals have.

Thank you for this wonderful video!!! I would love to see more of these so others can understand!!

Thanks for sharing this!!

Hi

Have only just got to watch this properly without other distractions. Pretty amazing like you say. I would like to hear more details from her on how she thinks mental health disabilities fit into this right hand/left hand brain set up.

Bye for Now
Jill
